Kids Summer Movie Previews

Here it is…. the blog post that my kids want to read the most each season….. it’s the kids movie previews for Summer 2013! Which movie are you most looking forward to seeing with your family this summer?

Iron Man 3

Probably more appropriate for older tweens and teens. In theatres now. Rating: PG-13 for violence.

Star Trek Into Darkness

This film appears to feature exactly what you’d expect -spaceships and planets destroying one another…. sci-fi movie violence. Older tween and teens. In theatres now. Rating: PG-13.

Epic

An animated adventure for kids! Opens this weekend. Rating: PG

Penguins 3D

Another beautifully filmed documentary film involving penguins! It looks great- but I am guessing we will wait for the DVD release! Opens this weekend.

Man of Steel

Kids old enough to be into the superhero movies will be begging to see this latest version of “Superman”. Opens June 14th. Rating: PG-13.

Monsters University

This is the movie that I am most looking forward to seeing this summer! Opens June 21st.

Despicable Me 2

Sure to be a hit with my kids! You have to love the minions! Opens July 3rd.

Turbo

An adorable looking animated movie about a snail named Turbo. Opens July 17th. Rating: PG

The Smurfs 2

Personally, I find the whole smurf-thing to be annoying. I am hoping that we can avoid this one! Opens July 31st.

Disney’s Planes

This movie is sure to be HUGE with young kids this summer- and there will no doubt be countless of promotional tie-ins with fast food restaurants, not to mention a whole new line of must-have toys available at Target! Opens August 9th.

Percy Jackson 2: Sea of Monsters

Tween and teen fans of the book series will be thrilled to see this 2nd installment of the Percy Jackson series. Opens August 16th.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

I am not familiar with this book series- but I think I need to check it out because the trailer looks pretty cool. Marketed towards fans of The Hunger Games and Twilight. Opens August 23rd.

One Direction: This is Us

Whether I want to see it or not- this movie will thrill my daughters beyond belief. So at least I already know what I will be doing Labor Day weekend! Opens August 30th.
