Holiday Traditions…. Nana’s Christmas Mix!

Every year my Mom makes this delicious concoction of white chocolate, chex mix, pretzels, peanuts and M&Ms…… and it is totally addictive!  And really very simple to make (or as my youngest daughter would say, “easy peasy lemon squeezie!”)

Nana’s Christmas Mix
1 12-oz. jar of dry roasted peanuts (salted)
3 cups of pretzel sticks
3 cups rice chex
3 cups corn chex
3 cups cheerios
1 12-oz. package of M&Ms (plain- get the red and green ones if you can!)
2 10-oz. packages of white chocolate baking chips

Mix together the peanuts, pretzels, cereals, and M&Ms in a large bowl, and then divide evenly into 2 bowls.

Melt 1 package of white chocolate chops in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute.  Stir.

Heat for one additional minute, and then stir until smooth.

Pour over one bowl of the cereal mix and stir well to mix.

Pour onto a cookie sheet covered in non-stick aluminum foil.

Repeat with the melting of the second package of chips, and pouring over the remaining cereal.  When cooled, you can break the mixture into pieces and place into smaller storage containers.

And don’t you just adore the lovely glass bowl with the little bird on a branch etching?  I did the glass etching myself, and I am giving these bowls as Christmas gifts this year!

And just so no one forgets who gave them this fabulous gift…..
