As a long-time scrapbooker who loves to create albums for my kids, but has little to no time to devote to this hobby anymore, PicMonkey provides an easy way to create lasting memories out of the thousands of digital photos I have hanging around on my phone and laptop! Digital scrapbooking is fun and easy- and costs almost nothing to do!

I have been using PicMonkey literally since the first day that it launched- and I am thrilled with how easy it is to use, how simple it is to crop pictures, brighten them, add borders and overlays as well as text to my images.
When I work, I keep several windows of PicMonkey open on my laptop- so that I can edit individual photos in one window and then add them to my final layout in another as I go along. As I drop images in, it is super easy t re-size them, lay them on top of each other, angle them, and add additional detail.
And because PicMonkey allows me to save my layouts online in their “Hub,” I can take a break at any time and come back to my work later. I find this to be the perfect activity to do while watching a TV or movie with my family and while sitting in the passenger seat on a long family road trip!
Why Digital Scrapbooking?
I wanted to share this “how to” series on digital scrapbooking with other busy Moms for several reasons. First of all- there is no doubt that spending time looking at your family photos and reminiscing about the fun you had together is just good for your soul. It reminds me of all of the efforts that I put into planning that vacation, or driving my kids to/from that activity or just the effort I put into my parenting- in general- is truly worth it.
Secondly- doing something creative and fun like selecting colors for my layouts and finding coordinating patterns and embellishments is also good for my heart. We spend so much time on non-creative activities as parents- carpooling, cleaning, laundry, checking homework- that spending time on something that feels artistic just feels good!
And lastly- it is truly a relaxing activity that is meant just for me!
