With everything that is on our plates, it’s no wonder that Moms find it especially difficult to make the time needed to do what’s right for them. From the time our children are babies, we carefully monitor every bite of food that goes into their little bodies- are they getting a healthy balanced diet? Did they get enough vegetables today? Enough fruit? Did they take their daily vitamins? Did we make sure that they went to bed on time so they received 10-12 hours of sleep? Did we give them enough time outdoors to run around and get some much-needed exercise? The questions we ask are nearly endless.
But what’s even more amazing, is that we can spend so much time monitoring what the kids are doing, but we don’t give ourselves even the tiniest amount of that effort to monitor our own choices towards good health. I know that for me when lunch time rolls around I just look in the fridge and whatever would be the fastest thing to grab/make is what I eat. Truly, I place more of a priority on a “fast and simple” meal versus a “healthy and fuel my body” lunch. So it is no wonder that 2 hours later I am starving and craving sweets- I never gave my body the energy it needed to get through the afternoon!
