Have you or any of your friends been touched in some way by cancer? I have. I’ve watched a Mom stand strong in the face of cancer and make decisions every day to do what she needed to do to be there for her family. Decisions that seem unimaginable to me- standing on the sidelines watching her. What course of treatment to take? How to fight this disease? How do you keep life “as normal as possible” for your family? I watched in anguish, and in awe. And I know that my friend is the absolute model of courage.
And I am grateful every day that I have not had to walk in her shoes. And I hope that if some day I am called upon to do so, that I can face cancer with the same determination, hope, and positive attitude that I witnessed in my friend.
This October, Ford Warriors in Pink® has launched its first ever produced documentary, “Bang the Drum: Living Out Loud in the Face of Breast Cancer.” The film honors 11 men and women breast cancer survivors who have demonstrated strength and courage in their battle with its “Models of Courage” program. 2012 marks Ford Motor Company’s 18th year of support for the breast cancer cause. In that time, Ford has dedicated more than $115 million to the breast cancer cause.
You too can get involved in this tremendously worthy program! When you buy Ford Warriors in Pink apparel at fordcares.com, 100 percent of the net proceeds go directly to support breast cancer awareness all year long.
And for goodness sakes, see your doctor regularly and work with your doctor to determine the right age for you to start mammograms. And if you ARE the right age… well then make sure that you get them. This is important stuff people.
